Behind every successful program at NWREC#2 is a strong foundation and our Business Team is a huge part of that success. From budgeting and payroll to purchasing, compliance, and day-to-day problem solving, this team keeps the wheels turning so our educators and programs can stay focused on serving students and districts. The Business Team brings expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and transparency in everything they do. They are often working behind the scenes, but their impact is felt across the entire cooperative. Whether it’s meeting deadlines, navigating complex requirements, or jumping in to help colleagues, this team consistently shows professionalism, teamwork, and dedication. We are incredibly grateful for the knowledge, reliability, and heart the Business Team brings to NWREC#2 every day.

Medicaid

NWREC#2 launched Medicaid Billing Services during the 2024–2025 fiscal year for the following participating school districts: Chama Valley Independent Schools, Mesa Vista Consolidated Schools, and Questa Independent Schools.
This year, we expanded our support to include Pojoaque Valley Schools, Wagon Mound Public Schools, Jemez Mountain Independent Schools, Peñasco Independent Schools, and Taos Municipal Schools. This expansion reflects NWREC#2’s continued commitment to supporting school districts in maximizing Medicaid reimbursements and strengthening access to essential services for students.
Dolores Patino serves as our Medicaid Coordinator and works closely with districts to ensure services are supported efficiently and in compliance with program requirements.
CTE/TITLE III Consortiums
Martha Sanchez, CTE/Tile III Coordinator/Education Support
NWREC#2 provides fiscal management for the CTE -Next Gen/Perkins-Consortium and the Title III Consortium, supporting participating districts in effectively managing and maximizing federal program funds. Through consortium collaboration, we assist districts with budgeting, allowable expenditures, reimbursement processing, and required fiscal documentation to ensure funds
are used appropriately and in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Martha Sanchez serves as the CTE -Next Gen/Perkins & Title III Consortium Coordinator and works closely with member districts to provide guidance, technical assistance, and ongoing support throughout the year.

Erin Easley, Disciplinary Literacy Coordinator
VISION: Empower secondary students to achieve personal growth and excellence as readers, writers, speakers, and thinkers.
MISSION: Our mission is to empower secondary educators to cultivate a strong literacy environment across all content areas. We will use innovative coaching practices and collaborative partnerships to result in improved student achievement and higher graduation rates.
We are a group of 11 coaches and 1 coordinator serving secondary schools across the state to support literacy development and achievement in collaboration with the Public Education Department. Our work includes individual coaching with teachers, providing professional development to school staff on literacy strategies and implementation, and promoting the overall growth and
development of pedagogical practices to enhance student outcomes.

Paso a Paso Network

Paso a Paso is a network of community organizations and individuals in Taos County dedicated to supporting families with young children from the prenatal stage through age eight. Network members represent a wide range of services, including health care, behavioral health, family support, early childhood education and care, special needs services, and early intervention. Paso a Paso provides a mechanism for organizations to build strong relationships, coordinate efforts, and collaborate on initiatives that ensure high-quality services for young children and their families. The network also works to strengthen community understanding of the importance of the early years. Paso a Paso Network members honor families as their children’s first and most important teachers and believe that young children should be valued as our youngest citizens.
