Sharon Ostrom serves as a Disciplinary Literacy Coach with NWREC2. Born in Naples, Italy, Sharon's upbringing took her across the globe, including Texas, Guam, Washington, Maryland, Hawaii, California, and New Mexico, fostering her adaptability and multicultural perspective.
She holds a Bachelor of University Studies (B.U.S.) with concentrations in Mass Communication & Journalism and Physical Education, as well as a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Special Education from the University of New Mexico. With 23 years of teaching experience across elementary, middle, and high school levels, Sharon has built a diverse and robust skill set in education. Her expertise is supported by endorsements in Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Physical Education, and Library Media.
Sharon is married to a registered nurse and is a proud mother of two sons, both married, and grandma to two granddaughters, ages seven and three. Outside of work, she enjoys sports, reading, and writing, and is dedicated to lifelong learning and supporting others in achieving their educational goals.
