Doreen Cahill is a passionate and dedicated Disciplinary Literacy Coach with NWREC2. Originally from Denver, Colorado, she has lived internationally, spending time in Panama City, Panama, and Germany, which greatly enriches her perspective on education and literacy.
Doreen has been working for New Mexico Public Schools for 25 years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from New Mexico State University. Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of subjects across various grade levels, from kindergarten to 5th grade. Her extensive experience also includes serving as a School-Based Literacy Coach in New Mexico, where she supported the development of effective literacy practices across schools.
Outside of her professional life, Doreen is a proud mother to her son, Vaughn, a Chemical Engineer and Contracting Specialist. She currently resides in Alamogordo, New Mexico. In her free time, Doreen enjoys traveling, immersing herself in native cultures, and expressing her creativity through art.
