Celina Lopez
Literacy Coach
Celina Lopez is a Disciplinary Literacy Coach with 24 years of experience in education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Social Studies from the College of Santa Fe and a master’s degree in Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies with a concentration in Literacy from the University of New Mexico.
With experience across elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, Lopez brings a broad and well-rounded perspective to instructional practice. She has taught English Language Arts, English Language Development, Pre-Advanced Placement, and Dual Credit courses, and has served as a Literacy Interventionist and Library Media Specialist, supporting students and teachers in research and information literacy while fostering a culture of reading across content areas. Together, these experiences give her a deep understanding of literacy development and the diverse needs of student populations.
Outside of work, Lopez loves spending time with her husband, sons, daughter-in-law (with a little one on the way), nephews, niece, father, and fur family too! A proud lifelong New Mexican, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, listening to live music, exploring the desert, and experimenting in the kitchen with cooking and baking. Sundays are her favorite, especially when spent around the table for a big family dinner, sharing laughter and stories with everyone she loves.
