Our Theory of Action: If NWREC2 collaborates intentionally with member districts to assess local needs and deliver sustained, evidence-based professional development and technical assistance, educators will be better equipped to implement high-quality, high-yield instructional practices. We are confident this will lead to improved student outcomes, greater district coherence and stronger, more equitable educational systems across the consortium

Professional Development: NWREC2 serves as a cornerstone for professional development in the Northwest Region, providing impactful training and support that benefit administrators, teachers, support staff, and students. These initiatives are delivered through InterGovernmental Agreements (IGAs) with the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) as well as programs uniquely designed by NWREC2.

Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs) with State Agencies and Non-profit Organizations-NWREC2’s work with the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) and other agencies in coordinating and facilitating statewide professional development continues to expand each year. Through IGAs with various NMPED Divisions and Bureaus, other state agencies and non-profit organizations, we provide comprehensive support in key areas such as contract development, fiscal management, event facilitation, procurement, and Request for Proposals (RFP) processes.
